About: Soul Joke is an alt-metal band with great power, energy, and stage show. They have many influences such as Queen, Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Five Finger Death Punch, and Motley Crue, which creates a distinct sound and style.

 

Background: Soul Joke is an old name with a new face and a modern twist! The original Soul Joke was active in the late ’90s to early 2000s, but now the original drummer’s son, Cameron (drums) has brought the band back to life. Cameron met and formed the band with lead guitarist and vocalist, Jordan, due to their parents being in a band together. Jordan had been in several bands before Soul Joke and called on his good friend, Tyler, a bass player, to help form the original three-member lineup. Later they added rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist Zach, who happens to be Jordan’s brother. 

 

Sound: Soul Joke has a diverse, powerful sound, that comes from our many different influences. This forms a unique style that has an intense groove you can either dance or headbang too. Cameron brings power to everything he does behind the drums. Tyler thumps a thunderous sound mixed with a melodious groove, while still maintaining a growly edge. Zach adds to the groove with his heavy chugging and catchy riffs. Jordan completes the overall sound with his unique vocals and by adding his aggressive and articulate guitar styles to give Soul Joke a sound that truly is original. 

 

Looking Forward: Soul Joke has a sound that fits really well with any style of rock and metal. Soul Joke has played many shows and is eager for more. They also aren’t afraid of travel, having gone to Chicago to play some shows. As of late, they have been working on a two part demo, or short album, with the first demo projected to be released in late October or early November. Soul Joke released a music video for the song called “Reality” in early 2019, but have since gone back into the studio, thinking that they could do even better. Reality will be one of the songs featured on the first demo. Soul Joke has many more ideas for music, lyrics, and even videos written down, and can’t wait to show off what they can do.
